This site is a resource for people who are interested in learning Irish music on the flute—particularly the simple-system (six-hole) transverse flute, sometimes referred to as the "Irish flute."

If you're new to the flute, you may want to begin by reading the For Beginners section. It describes the instrument and provides links to books, instructors, and other resources to help you get started.

If you'd like to buy a flute, check out the extensive international directory of wooden (and bamboo) flute makers and dealers.

Both beginners and more experienced players will find a lot of valuable information in the Interviews section. The site also provides advice on how to maintain or repair your flute, where to find a good flute case, a list of recommended players, and announcements of flute-related events, recordings, and publications.

Enjoy the site; I hope you find it useful. The "Recent Additions" page lists the most recent changes.
